MANTA RAY NIGHT DIVE KAILUA KONA HOW TO
How to have a great time snorkeling with the manta rays! Allow an extra 10 minutes to find parking and walk to your check-in location at the pier! See the link below (or the Reach Us tab) for details. The stationary and concentrated light is your best chance to attract manta rays while keeping everyone safe.
MANTA RAY NIGHT DIVE KAILUA KONA FREE
No providers in Kona offer free swimming or snorkeling with the manta rays. The powerful lights attract photosynthetic plankton toward the group, and the manta rays come in search of the plankton! We will reposition the group as needed for optimal manta ray viewing!

Simply hang on to the handles and effortlessly float, face down, with the help of the provided floatation devices.
MANTA RAY NIGHT DIVE KAILUA KONA PROFESSIONAL
A professional guide will be in the water with guests at all times! While guests watch for manta rays, we keep the Light Board in position. Guests will then be guided into the water and positioned along the perimeter of our Light Board. Your professional guides will provide a safety briefing, instructions on using snorkel gear, and fit the group with wet suit tops to keep you warm in the water. Guests will join us on a 5-10 minute ride on our Hawaiian double-hull canoe to the manta ray snorkel site near the mouth of Keauhou Bay (1/4 mile from the pier).

You’re unlikely to find another activity providing an incredible adrenaline rush while being safe and low-risk! Manta ray snorkeling will give you an unforgettable sensation. Our manta ray night snorkel experience is an activity that can only be had in a few locations around the world one of them is here on the Big Island of Hawaii. Have fun! BTW you can see the Mantas from the bar at the Sheraton and get an idea of what it looks like with all the boats out there on that site.Regarded by the Travel Channel as one of the most thrilling experiences on Earth, join us as we watch magnificent manta rays glide through the ocean in search of dinner! They can weigh more than 1,000 lbs and span more than 15 feet! Don’t worry manta rays only filter feed on plankton. We've always seen Mantas when we've gone, sometimes just a few and it feels like watching a ballet, other times 20 have shown and it's no like a rave. One tip for the dive, take a pound or 2 more weight on this dive, it makes it easier to stay in your spot at the bottom of the circle for the Manta show. This changes though so good idea to check with operators to see if the Mantas have been showing up. The garden eel cove site which is nearer the airport had some no show nights recently. We have done the snorkel trip as well at the Sheraton site and from what I've read recently they have been having better luck with the Mantas showing up recently. If you want a smaller operator Pacific Rim is a great dive op for any sort diving and they do the Manta dives on Tuesday nights last I heard. Most of the operators in Kona are good though.

As divers who have been visiting the Kona once or twice a year for almost 20 years and have done many Manta dives over the years our suggestion would be Jack's Diving Locker which has the best educational program for the Manta dive.
